Guido Giordano (PhD) is Full Professor of Volcanology at the Department of Science of the University of Roma Tre.

He teaches institutional courses in Volcanology and Geothermics for the Master's Degree.
He is Scientific Director of the Geothermal Laboratory.
He is President of the Italian Association of Volcanology.
He is Co-Leader of the Commission on Explosive Calderas of IAVCEI (International Association for Volcanology and Geochemistry of the Earth Interior).
He is in charge of the Territorial Operational Pole of Central Italy in the Italian Geothermal Union.
He has been Associate Research Fellow at Monash University, Australia.
He has been Chair of the Taskgroup on Volcanic Crisis Protocols of the International Association of Volcanology and Geochemistry of the Earth Interior (IAVCEI).
He has been a member of the Programme Committee for Volcanic Risk under the Framework Agreement of the Department of Civil Protection-INGV 2012-2021
He was a member of the Working Tables established by the Civil Protection for the revision of the alert levels to Vesuvius and Phlegraean Fields and for the drafting of the pre-operational framework of volcanic risk in Ischia.
He was Associate Editor of the Bulletin of Volcanology and of the Geological Society of America Bulletin, and current Associate Editor of the magazine Geological Field Trip and Maps.
He is author of more than 100 scientific publications in international and national journals and author of many geological maps in volcanic areas and of geothermal interest.
He is co-editor and co-author of five monographic volumes: The Colli Albani volcano (with geological map included) published in 2010 by the Geological Society of London; La Geologia di Roma (with geological map included) published in 2008 in the series of Descriptive Memoirs of the Geological Map of Italy; two special volumes of the Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research, published respectively in 2006 in "Explosive Mafic Volcanism" and in 2008 in "Volcanoes and Human History"; The Atlas of Italian Submarine Volcanic Structures currently being published in the series Descriptive Memoirs of the Geological Map of Italy;
He has been invited to hold seminars at prestigious national and international institutions.
He regularly participates in the organization of scientific sessions and international and national congresses and pre and post-conference excursions.
He is the scientific coordinator of many research programmes financed by public and private bodies, both national and international.
