Key words: High/ultra-high pressure, metamorphic terranes, geological maps, guides.

High/ultra-high pressure metamorphic terranes offer exceptional natural laboratories to study subduction and exhumation processes and geochemical recycling at crustal and subcrustal depths. In many cases, the study of these processes requires a multi-scale approach, and the combination of laboratory analyses and careful geological field studies. For this special issue of Geological Field Trips and Maps, we are looking for guides and maps that summarize recent geological field observations in high-pressure metamorphic terranes, and that lay the foundation for future multi-scale and multi-disciplinary analyses of the processes that characterize active and fossil subduction zones.

Deadline for submission: May 2026
